Enrico Martini is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Engineering for Innovation Medicine of the University of Verona and a member of PARCO. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at Verona in 2025 under the supervision of Nicola Bombieri, after research on efficient deep-learning methods for real-time human-motion denoising and completion on edge architectures.

His work combines computer vision, signal processing and optimisation to make human-motion estimation usable outside motion-capture laboratories. Research topics include real-time 3D pose estimation, gait analysis, privacy-preserving processing, denoising and completion of incomplete motion data, and the fusion of observations from multiple cameras or sensors. The objective is to recover physically meaningful motion while keeping computation fast enough for edge and interactive systems.

During a visiting period at the University of Pennsylvania he worked on vision-based collision prediction and avoidance for safe human–robot coexistence and physical assistance. His current research continues toward markerless human–robot interaction, including anatomically constrained multiview estimation and tracking. This work connects PARCO’s expertise in efficient edge computing with rehabilitation, telemedicine and robotic systems in which latency and reliability are as important as estimation accuracy.
