Ferdinando Pompanin is a PhD student in Intelligent Systems Engineering at the University of Verona and a member of PARCO. His doctoral position is funded within the RIR IMPROVENET — Smart Manufacturing initiative, on human-centred interfaces for the optimisation of manufacturing and innovation in Services 5.0.

His research background includes human motion prediction for collaborative and interactive systems. Recent work on the PADSO approach studies how predictions of human motion can be improved by incorporating the position and semantics of objects in the surrounding environment, with applications including collaborative robotics, rehabilitation and human-machine interaction. This work connects human-centred modelling with the efficient perception and computing methods developed in PARCO.
